2007 Pure Stock Rules

    

When the word pure stock is used it means PURE STOCK as it came from the factory with the only exception being the engine with cars that came with a 305 CAN run a 350.   Transmission: All Metric frame cars must run a stock automatic transmission.

This class is intended to be a place for beginners to get into racing. The emphasis will be on LOW COST and safety.

(1) General, All components must be as they came from the factory. No criss crossing of parts. Example, No mixing of body parts, all body parts must be the same year and model or exchanging ford to chevy engine. Body replacement must be OEM parts not sheet metal or aluminum (No Home made body parts).....!

(2) Chassis Cars must be 1970 or newer passenger cars Minimum factory wheel base 108" No

altering wheelbase to achieve minimum.   After market nose is OK..... Frame rails must be

complete from front to rear on full frame cars. Unibody cars such as camaros must have 2x3

rectangular tubing tying the front frame clip to the stock rear dip to install the roll cage to for safety

reasons.

Removal of front fender wells is ok. Rear fender wells may only be cut for tire clearance only.

(3) Safety Minimum 5 point racing seat belt harness is required fastened to roll cage securely. Fire extinguisher in reach and easily removed by the driver. Driver must wear a full face DOT approved helmet and shield. Also must wear a fully approved fire suit.

(4)ROLLCAGE   Minimum 1 1/2 o.d x .095 wall race car tubing or pipe. Minimum 3 door bars on driver side and 2 on the passenger side.   Rollcage must consistof front and rear hoops and Xed behind the driver hoop. Rollcage must extend to in front of the radiatorand to the rear of the car. A Standard 8 point Cage .

(5) STEERING   Stock and in stock location. No quicking devises, You may run a quick disconnect steering wheel and hub but it must be fastened to a complete stock steering column. No aftermarket racing power steering pumps or pulleys Pump and reservoir must be stock and as one unit.

(6) Suspension Pure Stock!!!! as it came from the factory seen or hidden front or rear weight jacks No aftermarket or altering springs. Stock front and rear control arms, NO MODIFING OR ADDONS to the suspension.

(7) Brakes Stock, must have all 4 wheel brakes. No brake shut off valves. No aftermarket

calipers, master cylinders, or pedals.

No disc brake rear ends unless the car came from the factory with it such as a trans am....

(8) Wheels maximum width 8". No offset rims, Tires must not exceed no more than 2" inches out side of fenders at any time. No bead lock wheels.

(9) Tires    Stock DOT tires (highway use) NO RACING TIRES OR RACING RECAPS... max width 10" measured from the side wall to side wall of the tire. No Mudgrips. No Graving or tires.

(10) REAR END   Stock for make and model. May be locked. No gear lower than 300 ratio, It will be checked. Again No disc brake rear ends unless it came from the factory such as a trans am.

(11) Bumpers Stock front and rear, no push bars or kick rails allowed.

(12) Fuel Tank    All cars must have a fuel cell,    minimum 10 gallons and a maximum 16 gallon cell securely mounted in the trunk. No excess gutting of trunk floor to install fuel cell only if needed.

(13) Battery  Location optional, If mounted in the driver compartment it must be in a leak resistant battery container and securely held down in a battery box made of angle iron and battery hold down bolts. ALL CARS must have a 12 volt power source under the hood of the car for tech equipment.

(14) Weight All cars must weigh 3500 ids after race.  All cars using lead or steel weights must have weights painted white and be securely mounted with (2)    1/2 bolts on each weight NO LOOSE WEIGHTS.

 (15) SEAT Aluminum racing seat only, no stock bucket or (fiberglass type racing seat). Succurly mounted to rollcage , No floor mounted seats.

(16) Drive Shaft      Must be painted white......

(17) Radiator Stock or aftermarket racing radiator is ok in stock location.
(18) Shocks   Stock, and in stock location. No No NO RACING SHOCKS

(19) Vacuum Rule , 18" inches at 750 rpm

(20) Fuel    Pump gas only. No racing gas or octane booster of any kind. Must run a stock fuel pump   no high volume racing pump and no electric pumps.

(21) Carburetor   2 barrel only,,, gm rodchestor and must not exceed 1.400 ventura bore

(22) Transmission Stock for make and model. No replacing automatic with a standard.   You can only run a standard if that car came from the factory with it. No exceptions..........Automatics may

run a oil cooler, And must run a stock converter. Also standards must run a stock clutch and pressure plate and flywheel.

(23) Exhaust,   Stock, No headers. Max pipe size is 2" inches

(24)   ENGINE:   MAX362CID.   STOCK ENGINES ONLY.

NO stroked or destroked engines.no racing pistons rods or cranks, No performance heads this includes bowtie, dart, vortex or double hump or power pack heads no matter if they came from the factory with them. No porting or polishing in heads no screw in studs or pinned studs, no roller or roller tip rockers, no roller or flat tappet cams even if the engine came from the factory with one. no after market valve covers or air cleaners no chrome accessories no aftermarket pulleys or aluminum water pumps and no aftermarket distributors. You must run a stock oem non performance 2 barrel steel intake manifold again no porting and polishing. Remember,   This is a Beginners class, if it is not stock it is illegal, No racing parts allowed unless stated, if you have any questions ask us and we will let you know.   Remember, If you want to go faster please move up to the next class.
